Welcome back to our East Coast partnership site.
Once again, we’re linking The Scotsman with one of Britain’s leading train companies in a move which will bring tens of thousands of our readers amazing travel bargains.
We’ll be offering an astonishing deal to allow you to see just how good the East Coast service really is by offering tickets from Edinburgh to London and back again for just £10 each way.
It’s the bargain of the decade, and we know that Scotsman readers will want to snap it up.
There’s no better way to find out just how smooth, quick and relaxing the journey between Britain’s two great capital cities can be. On value, convenience and comfort, taking the train beats flying by a long shot.
Last year, we teamed up with East Coast for the first time to show how the journey wasn’t just fast and easy, but convenient too.
In a contest we called The Challenge, we sent one of our journalists down to London on the train, and asked another writer to make exactly the same journey by plane.
They both started in the very centre of Edinburgh and had to meet up again later in the day nearly 400 miles south at the iconic Gherkin building in the heart of the City. Each also had to research and write an article on the way.
The result was that the journalist who went by East Coast arrived a good 10 minutes before his colleague who had travelled by air. He’d also been able to be more productive and found the whole experience less stressful. The attentive onboard catering staff also kept him well fed and refreshed with a tasty hot meal and drinks during the course of the journey.
Now you have the chance to enjoy the whole East Coast experience for yourself at a rock bottom price.

Airports, who needs them? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve no fear of flying, but I’m furious with airport security. They don’t allow you to take your trusty tweezers through the security gate (as if that’s where baddies kick off?), then encourage you to buy a dozen new pairs of these deadly weapons once...

The last to speak was the one who was least confident – or at least used to be. That was before he became the Flying Scotsman.

No point in being a train-spotter in a place like that, he said. “How many trains were there? One a week? Perhaps two.”
